Engagement Authorization Terms
Scope of Services
Slate Drafting will provide residential drafting and construction documents for the project scope as outlined in the proposal, email, or other written correspondence provided to the client prior to authorizing work.
The drawings will be prepared to a level suitable for permitting, coordination with contractors, and construction, based on applicable residential codes and local requirements.
Fees
The total fee for the authorized scope is as outlined in the proposal, email, or written correspondence provided to the client prior to authorization.
This fee reflects the time required to develop coordinated, permit-ready drawings for the agreed scope of work.
Payment & Delivery
Once the plan set has reached permit-ready status, it will be issued as an “Issued for Review” set. At this stage, the drawings are considered complete for the agreed scope of services and are suitable for submission to the applicable jurisdiction for plan review.
Completion refers to technical completeness, not client review or aesthetic approval. The Issued for Review set reflects a coordinated, code-compliant construction document package prepared in accordance with the approved scope and applicable regulations.
Payment is due upon issuance of the Issued for Review set, regardless of whether the plans have been reviewed or commented on by the client. Any revisions requested after this point—including stylistic preferences, scope changes, or jurisdiction-driven comments—will be addressed separately in accordance with the terms of this agreement.
Minor revisions resulting from client feedback or plan review comments are included after payment. Additional revisions beyond the included scope may require a separate fee.
Plan Use & Release
Full-resolution plan sets (and individual drawing sheets) are released once payment is received.
Drawings may be reviewed and discussed prior to payment; however, they are not intended for third-party reliance, pricing, permitting, or construction use until payment has been made.
Project Coordination & Revisions
Slate Drafting will remain available throughout the permitting and construction process to address minor revisions, clarify details, and coordinate with contractors as needed, provided such changes remain within the original authorized scope.
Substantial changes to scope, sequencing, or design intent may require a separate authorization and fee.
Authorization to Proceed
By submitting this form, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agree to the scope, fees, and payment terms outlined above and authorize Slate Drafting to proceed with the work described in the referenced written correspondence.
